My name is John Connor and I am your "guide - on - the - side" for this course. My preferred e-mail address for this course is connorj@DaytonaState.edu. I can be reached by phone at 386.506.3406.

EDF 1005 is significantly useful in discerning if education is an ideal career for you. I promise you that this particular course will be significantly helpful in deciding if teaching is for you.

The textbook that we use for this course is Introduction to teaching, 3rd Edition, by Ronald Kauchak. The ISBN is 0-13-199455-7. The text can be purchased on-campus or off-campus. There are used texts available for purchase (usually before the semester begins).

A critical component of EDF 1005 is your volunteer experience within the public schools. You must be "cleared" to be in the school systems. If you are in one of my sections that meet with me once a week during our semester please bring your driver's licence to class during the 2nd week of this semester. If you are in my online section In order to accomplish this for Volusia Public Schools proceed to:

Click on <college students> (located on upper left)

Click on <How to become a school volunteer>

Click on <Applying to volunteer>

Download the application, complete the application and submit to Pat Travis' office (Volunteering) at Volusia Schools.

If you have any questions please refer to our syllabus first and then (if necessary) call me at 386.506.3406 or e-mail me at connorj@daytonastate.edu. My office is located on the Daytona Campus, Building 100, Office 224N. Please print-out our syllabus, read it and reference it throughout our semester (together).
