Knowledge: a Blessing, or a Curse
Can intelligence be our greatest strength,
and the answers to each's quests,
The search for knowledge, and a gift to all,
this power, in which we're blessed?
Should we use the riddles, when all solved,
every mystery, that's to be found in our hunts,
As in a selfish gain and the wrong pursuit,
puzzles with their pieces, as only affronts?
Life's sweet breath, and the spirit found within,
there's no greater grace, to be portrayed,
As if a marvelous artist, paints his scenes,
upon the canvas of life, so displayed.
Experiencing the joys and love of this world,
most important of all the human needs,
Then from the good earth and wonderful soil,
we find reason of the precious planted seeds.
Thoughts are given within brains, so endowed,
in an asking of the why"s and when,
A natural presence of an intellect,
to seek the answers and where all life did begin.
Should we discover the reason and rhyme of all things,
then our lives true purpose would be to deny,
Gaining of knowledge, after all, and in goodness used,
gives us strength, on which we may each rely.

The year 1947 was a great year for our generations to come.
I write of the birds and their vital role in the food chain and how they may be effected by loss of forests and habitat.
A very special time of every year... as Christmas comes.
