Lessons Learned and Answers Sought
Had we learned from our past mistakes,
sought to improve our lives, since then,
We would do a thousand things more,
instead of starting all over again.
The Earth would still spin in its rotation,
and the sun above us continue to shine.
True intelligence merits greater gains,
of a deserved progress, by human kind.
When shall the offending subjects to learn,
wrong choices, much failure to bring,
As all creatures scurry about their own lives,
and the songbirds on tree limbs sing.
Such poor qualities of humanistic persuasion,
will never lead us to any well done success,
All avarice and greed, shall wrong turns to lead,
and are so common of each, at their best.
Better times must surely await us, ahead,
not much worse could there presently be,
Our dedication, with a stubborn determination,
may bring brighter days for us each to see.
An insight, and willing sacrifices in our lives,
those to follow, a true happiness may bring,
An honorable characteristic of a just a few,
results in the fond harvests, so fit for a king.
So ask not what others may do just for you,
but that which you may do special for them,
Let those who survive us, of the human kind,
proudly see their tree of life, with its stem.
