International Labor Day
Labor Day
International Labor Day is on 1 May of every year. It is a day for holiday for labor. It is a great day for labor. Labors celebrate this day with great joy as if they are free from slavery. This means they are free only for one day every year on 1 May.
They are labor right after mid-night of 1 May. They go back to same place where they were and where they are. They have to bear same behavior from an employer, suppression, depression, oppression, harassment, hassles, humiliation, torture, terror and what not. They can not object. They can not escape from these ‘master’ behaviors, because they have to live on wages. They can not go anywhere to find a job in this competitive job market. If a person leaves due to excess behavior from an employer s/he has to stay on a street without livelihood means. There is no way to escape from 'jail' type of environment in a working place. There is no one to help a labor, even if s/he has to bear all intolerable situations. S/he has to wait for 1 May for another year to feel freedom and escape where everyone comes out on the street to celebrate May first day.
This is about a situation of a factory' type of environment. Let me write about 'office' environment. In an office everyone is master. There is rules and regulation. A staff works as per job description; there is no harassment, suppression, depression, torture and so on. There is healthy office environment. The 'office' environment is totally different from that of a 'factory'. So there is no necessary of May first day in an office. Every one is master and everyone is staff. Staff is protected from rules and regulations. Therefore an office is totally different from that of a factory. In present day certain rules are much stricter like 'sexual harassment'. Harassment meaning a man should not behave a woman that led to feel a woman 'insulted' - even with a shade of a man. We have saying in Newari, "Kipan Dayake Majiu". Meaning if one do not like another person that person get annoyed even with a shade of that man.
Summary
In summary every one has a day!
