Perspective on a Positive Attitude
REFLECTIONS OF THE TRUE SELF
Based on the happenings in my personal life over most of the almost 51 years I have been on this Earth, I would say the major "life lesson" I have learned is this (as my motto states on my HubPages bio): "You create your Universe with your thoughts!" It's sort of strange in a way, because I don't really consider it a "life lesson", it's more of a "remembering who I really am" thing. I believe when we are born, we come to earth already "knowing" in the deepest part of our spirit, everything we need to know about who we truly are and the empowerment we were innately given before we were even born.
The journalings/poetry below were written over the years, based on my life and what was happening at the time. They were written from the spirit part of me, the "who I really am" part of me. My wish for all of us, everywhere, is to come to a place in our lives where we truly realize the deepest part of who we really are and that we chose to live that part of us in the most positive, rewarding, beneficial way that we can!
THE MIRROR IMAGE
The mirror image of myself is what I see in you.
The courage, strength and unending hope you have
To overcome the things you lived. In spite of all
The hurt and pain and all the tears you’ve cried,
I still have much faith in you; I too, have held
The pain inside.
When I look within your saddened eyes,
I see an image off me
And all the things I see in you are
Reflections of the real me.
I am not perfect nor do I know all things,
I just know the sense of peace I’ve felt
And I know what joy it brings.
The peace I’ve had when I’ve looked inside
And then looked out and around
And saw some others with the same hurts
And I told them what I’ve found.
I have inside, the strength to cope
And I’ve given up the need to know
Why life allows the hurts that it does
And I’ve also learned to let go
Of the never-ending broken heart
That I’ve kept shoved on a shelf
And I’m willing to see and know and believe
That you’re the mirror of myself.
THE ANSWER IS INSIDE
There’s an answer for the pain we feel inside,
For the hurt and sadness we sometimes cannot hide.
We must search our heart and find the strength within.
The answer is a Light that never dies,
A Voice that never lies,
And a Love that lasts
Beyond the end of time.
In everyone of us is the
Courage to overcome,
The Wisdom to understand
And Forgiveness for all the
Damage that’s been done.
There’s Compassion for those without
The means to live fulfilled
And a Faith strong enough to
Erase all of our doubt.
All of these gifts dwell deep within
They are there for the taking
If we so choose to be whole.
So, remember when you’re crying
And there’s no one else around,
Just look inside your heart.
That’s where the answer is found.
To be aware is all that’s asked of humanity
For us to know there’s a purpose
In the very fact that we exist.
To speak our truth, to spread our light and
To know that, with the freedom of our individuality
Comes the responsibility of accepting one another as we are.
We all have a place on the circle of life.
We are precious and unique and at the same time,
We are reflections of one another.
Experiencing the lesson we learn in each day
Allows us to see we are personally responsible
For every choice we make.
It is Life’s purpose to show us that there is a GIFT
For us in all pain that enters our lives
IF we would only open our eyes and hearts to see it.
To be aware of our greatness and to choose evolution
And empowerment and integrity and love...
That is all that’s asked of those who stand
Within the circle of life.
