Poem - Through the Eyes of a Teacher

I usually teach adults, but in the past 12 months, decided to offer “one to one” Tuition support to kids from the ages of 8 to 12 years old. It's the Easter break this week and reflecting on the past year, inspired me to write this.

.

Through the Eyes of a Teacher

✰♡*•

If you smile,

their hearts open for a while.

If you shout,

they’ll wonder what the lesson’s about.

If you praise,

their grades will raise.

If you bore,

they’ll keep their eyes on the door.

✰♡*•

If you look closely for a while,

you’ll notice the naughty ones behind the angel smile.

If you love and care,

any worries they have, they will share.

If you are funny,

they won’t forget you in a hurry.

Fill them with words that are positive

and they’ll remember anything’s possible to achieve!

Ps. Thank you for reading. I hope many people can relate to this, particularly if you are a Teacher or parent. (◕‿◕)

This poem is heavier than volumes put together on what "teaching " is all about. I love this beautiful poem. I was also blessed with some teachers who fit in well with what this sweet poem talks about. Voted up.

You have a creative soul. In my own words a creative soul can also be a spiritual one. For many years I have been writing poetry and I have shared a sampling of my work with the HubPages audience. Keep the artistic thoughts and feelings in creative mode.
