Hollow Earth

So according to the “hollow earth” theory, the planet is really hollow and there is no molten core.

This theory suggests that there is an inner “sun” in the center of the planet and we are living on the outside of some sort of rocky shell.

The theory first became popular, when Admiral Richard E. Byrd of the United States Navy, returned from flying a mission over the North Pole in 1947 and claimed that he had been kidnapped by a civilization that lived beneath the surface of the earth.

He claimed that he had been escorted by unfamiliar flying machines to a safe landing place. He was then taken to meet the leaders of this civilization who told him that he had been selected as he was a man who seemed to be respected on the surface. They told him that they had decided to make contact because they were concerned that the surface people had used Atomic bombs. They were concerned that the surface dwellers would destroy the planet and them along with it. They asked that he return to the surface and tell his leaders of their concerns.

Later the Admiral led further expeditions after which he claims to have found another entrance at the South Pole and said that he believed that there were more entrances other than those at the poles.

Apparently he spoke of these missions to 2 magazines, who later published his stories.

Questions

A lot of people believe that his exploits are just works of fiction and that the Earth could not be hollow.

Others believe that the stories are half truths, that there may be a civilization living underground but in caves and that the Earth is not actually hollow.

Then of course, there are those that believe him totally.

According to the Admiral, the poles are not convex but concave and it is from within these “indents” of the surface of the planet, at the poles, that the main entrances to hollow earth exist.

Now I am not one to jump to any conclusions one way or the other, preferring to try and work things out logically. However when I consider his claims, I seem to only come up with questions.

I am by no means a scientist and so my questions may be simply answered, however as a layman I ask the questions:

If there was no truth to his claims, where is the harm in his stories being published?

Both times his story was published in magazines; the United States Government bought all printed copies.

Why is it that the United States Government does not allow any planes to fly directly over the poles, they are directed around them?

Why when the ice melts from either pole, is it fresh water only?

Surely if the sea had frozen wouldn’t it be salt water or at least there would have to be huge amounts of salt underneath.

Lastly, why is it that it is warmer at the poles than it is perhaps 600 or 1000 miles away from them?

From nearly every part of the World there are legends of civilizations that did or do live beneath the surface of the planet. Is it just coincidence that these stories from thousands of miles apart are all very similar?

Is it possible that our ancient ancestors knew more about our planet than we ourselves know today?

I believe that the truth is known by a few surface dwellers but for unknown reasons they want to keep it secret from the rest of us. Of course this obviously begs one more question, WHY?

Very interesting, rafken. I think ancient civilizations knew more than we about our planet and the solar system. Voted up!

Amusing report. Too much evidence against it being true, though...any way, how could it be when the earth is Flat!!
