REINCARNATION – Fact or Fiction? 1

Updated on October 16, 2011

QUESTION EVERYTHING!

“Open-minded” is an easily tossed around term these days. That you are here shows you may truly “be” open minded. Yet, you may have simply arrived with a preconceived notion to blast anyone speaking on a subject that, in your mind, must be false by virtue of the fact that you have not proven it yet. That too is valid and honest. “Question everything personally” is my motto.

There are people who claim to know the Bible inside and out, who have already pre-judged – period (too subtle?). Slowly but surely they’re starting to digest what Jesus clearly stated, “I am the way, the truth and the light”, yet still insist on a preacher’s 3rd hand interpretations. Most of them will say reincarnation does not exist because it is not in The Book, ignoring the abundant references Jesus made to when he would return/reincarnate. The key to all is in the “I am”.

The Good Book also states clearly, “ask and ye shall receive”. We pray for the irrelevant materialistic trappings and discard the truth when our dream yacht fails to materialize. Open minded is not an easy way to “be”. Even the tiniest doubt, fear, or prejudice will block the answers and manifestations we so desperately seek – as will desperation itself.

step 1 & 2

From my experience, asking with only the purest loving intentions, will not only produce fruitful answers, but also allow us to recognize them when they appear. Thus, the FIRST STEP as a true seeker, is to understand ourselves completely and the “why” of our question(s). Without this, on what basis can we determine if our question is pure and loving?

Why do you want to know if reincarnation is fact or fiction? Will it help every moment of the rest of your life? STEP 2 then is “how” will it improve your physical or spiritual journey? In our present level of awareness, the “how” will change dramatically once the answer is revealed, but we can only operate from where we are now. Pick the first “why” and “how” that come to your mind. Yes, the very first answer will reveal your truth.

once you know, you know...

OBSTACLES OR SIMPLICITY

If you find yourself off on a scattered tangent intellectualizing, it is not pure and loving. Experts make things sound so simple - don’t they? That is because they truly understand. Once we do, no subject is complicated.

I remember giving a speech on Einstein’s Theory of Relativity when I was 10. Does that make me a genius? I don’t think so. Simply, there were no obstacles of fear, doubt, or preconceived notions blocking my belief of understanding. Moreover, it easily made perfect sense to me because there was no delusion of complication while researching.

The purest, most loving intention I had in wanting to know if reincarnation was fact or fiction was – I really wanted to know! Reading any book on it was useless because my trust in another person’s interpretation was next to nil. Why read if you are not sure the subject matter is even valid?

The same held true concerning the “how” it could help me. Any author’s reasoning of how it would improve life met my mind with an immediate, “that’s their life, not mine”.

WHO'S HOW?

Montana Farm Girl helped me understand the importance of the why in her comment on my hubDREAMS ARE AN OPENING DOOR. She shared that her son was born with an ability to see auras and mentioned encouraging him to revive that gift. Now, that is open-minded!

She realized that viable answers are from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or dilemma! In addition, her quest/question was with the purest loving intentions for her son. My response required me to articulate the relevance of meaningful personal application to motivate our desire of honing any gift or avenue of truth.

Thank you Montana Farm Girl . You inadvertently gave me the final missing puzzle piece to clarifying the steps of “getting there”.

“Been there done that” can be a vague and general remembrance,

dwarfed by the “OH wow!” of arrival.

This example is also perfect to see the “process” in action. Less than 24 hours earlier, Feline Prophet said, “Do write about soul travel and previous lives...there are many here who want to learn more. :). I immediately thought to myself, “why?” I knew Feline Prophet’s ‘why’ would be different from your why, or my why. Whom do I write for?

In the response, this hub was born along with a thought in my mind that I was not able yet, to explain it well enough (doubt). I thought the key lay in “After acceptance and digesting that concept [how dreams can help us manage stress with more foresight and grace./be useful in our daily lives], it is understood that soul travel and previous life experiences become "allowable" without having to fight our egos. There are no “secrets”.

As Deepak Chopra explains on the [Gratitude Log 21 days to more abundance] hub, gratitude cannot co-exist with one's ego. If we want to know and witness a previous life, it cannot be to return to say or feel, "I'm so good" or, in my belief, not only for money/profit – again not purely loving intentions. However, that was not what was missing and knew it by my nagging gut.

Therefore, I “put out there” that I wanted the answer to what was missing before I could perhaps explain it to others who were interested. Less than a day later, Montana Farm Girl‘s comment revealed the answer. I had to eliminate my doubt (and fear), clarify the question with a why, and answer the “how” it would make any difference to him, or anyone he would touch in his life. Naturally, my “answer” would not be his answer – or mom’s. Personally, there are many useful ways for that gift, but that is in my life – not necessarily in his.

K.I.S.S. IT

Would you like to know the “how it would improve my life” that came to me?

Remember, K.I.S.S. – KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID/uncomplicated.

My answer: it would improve my life because - - - are you on the edge of your seat? - - - my answer just might be the same as yours - - - once simplified lovingly, we discover our “cores” differ very little - - - because - - - then I could read about it without doubt, fear or a lack of trust. I would be wasting my time with those blocks in place. They would prevent me from seeing or knowing if it were even valid.

Once I asked, determination and persistence played a huge role – as they do to successfully achieve anything valuable. My answer was revealed so clearly, there is now no question about it in my mind at all. In addition, reading anyone else’s experiences is not necessary to find out if it is true or not but merely for fun. Once you know, you know.

Awesome movie - especially for authors!!!

The “how it could help every moment of my life did indeed dramatically change and the added awareness has improved my life beyond…

As Sean Connery said in “Finding Forrester when Rob Brown asked him what it felt like to author a Pulitzer Prize winning book, “Why not find out for yourself?” I will however, let you in on that in the next hub, Part 11, on this subject.

Before you scoot on over there though, I reiterate – there is no point reading any of that until you, yourself know if it is true, valid or how it would change a moment of your life. Should I have posted “homework required” on the top of this hub? That way you could have dismissed it with a whole lot of preconceived notions or doubts and fears without having wasted a moment reading (just kidding).

So, for whom did I write this?

For YOU.

It is your choice and now you know exactly how to answer, “Reincarnation – fact or fiction?” for yourself :)
