Slave-maker ants steal pupae from other ant nests and the hatchlings of these pupae are made slaves and work as slaves throughout their lives.

Ants are born with wings and use them to mate when mature enough.

Average dog's moth can exert a pressure of 150 to 200 pounds per square inch, some dogs are able to exert a pressure of 450 pound per square inch.

The queen ant lives up to ten to twenty years and wood ant workers can have a life span of 7-10 years. Also, it is important to note that the average life expectancy of an ant is 45 to 60 days.

Contrary to an immensely popular myth, Ostriches do not bury their heads in sand when in danger. They would've been extinct till now if this was the case. However they do place their heads on sands while sleeping which might look like they have buried their heads in sand from some distance.

Kangaroos can live for months without water as they get the moisture they need from food.

An African wolf dog, Basenji, is the only dog that can not bark.

While kangaroo is the only large animal that moves by hopping, it can not move backwards.

You might already know that Antarctica is the coldest, emptiest and windiest of all the continents, but did you know that it is also the driest continent on the planet Earth?

Some species of kangaroo live in trees. They have a lifespan of up to 18 years in the wild.

Platypus store fats in its tail and its fur is waterproof.

Rabbits can't sweat and vomit.

The biggest rabbit ever weighed 26 lbs and the longest-lived rabbit on record is a rabbit that was 19 years old when he died. Normally rabbits weigh between 2 to 11 pounds and their average lifespan is 8-10 years.

Brazil used to be a colony of Portugal before September 7, 1822. Now it is the fifth largest country in area.

Worker ants will move the eggs and larvae deep into the nest to protect them from cold and during the daytime they will move the eggs tot op of the nest to keep them warmer.

Sweden is the third largest European country in land area. France and Spain are larger than Sweden.

Newborn gorillas cling to their mother's hair, rite after the birth and the mothers keep holding them for about four months. Baby gorillas stay with their mother till they are 2-3 years of age.

Jellyfish doesn't have a brain and is 95% water. Their digestive system has only one opening, they take food in through their mouth and waste material is also passed out through the mouth.

Did you know that rabbits eat their droppings? Also, their droppings serve as an excellent fertilizer for plants.

Like humans, gorillas also have 9 months of gestation period. Humans and Gorillas both belong to the order primitives and gorillas are the largest living primitives.

The world record of a rabbit's high jump is 1 meter and that of a long jump is 3 meters.

A platypus has two ovaries but only one of them is functional, the left one.
