Statistical Analysis
Euclid, in The Thirteen Elements, wrote that the truest Science is Math and that Statistics and I am paraphrasing is the Salesman of Science. He actually used stronger words but I would not write them within my hub. But it is true. For one to believe that they can take a sample of data which is random and normality omits the the fact that the observer in their very nature is biased and they have a vested interest in the outcomes of all sample projections of populations outcomes. There is almost no pure Science left being preformed within the United States. I think this is a terrible mistake. Without our objectiveness in our research we are blinded by any truth we could possibly gain and any advantage that we have in research and development. And we have spent the last 30 years not researching and identify truth but using statistical analysis as the salesman of one bad policy after another in the name of Science.
A return to a purely researched based Science community would significantly improve out research and development production.
Basic Understanding of Statistics
In order to understand what Statisticand how it is used to manipulate Scientific policy one must understand statistics. I would not suggest we abandon statistics but recognize it has severe limitations especially when it comes to inferential statistics which all of our Scientific policy is based upon.
Definition of Statistics
Basic Statistics
Sample Versus Mean
Sample of Variance Population
Margin of Error
Not All Inclusive
I love these videos not because they include everything you need to know but because they are a good introduction to statistics. Specifically there is a Science of studying outliers which I would submit in of themselves may not actually be outliers but an unrecognizable population within the sample. And as with Euclid and all Mathematics there are assumptions that are very hard to substantiate let alone prove. So the truest Science is incredibly hard to prove let alone provide any substantive inferential information for which Science is based.
