Hi Rhonda,

A great hub and hopefully an insentive to many.

My daughter Sue who is 29 years old and a single mum of four lovely children aged seven and under, has gone back to college and on Wednesday night she was presented with a special award for the student who showed outstanding personal achievement.

I was sat there feeling very very proud of her.

She gained 5 distinction and a merit in her IT exams last year.

This year she is studying towards gaining a Diploma in her IT.

I am very proud of her and that's why this hub was so good to read.

Thanks for sharing.

Take care,

Eiddwen.

Hiya my dear friend Rhonda, tell Eric way to go! I loved going to school.. I'm kind of a nerd that way. lol I'm interested in a lot of things.. like computer science, gemology, real estate, criminology etc.. although my degree is management accounting.. I hate accounting! lol This friend of yours is really weird! Going back to college after a long time being out of school, is very difficult. So Eric should be really proud of himself. hugssss

Have a nice day,

Rosie

I went back to college a few years after dropping out to finish my degree. This article resonates well with the sentiments I felt during the time. This is true, you will feel better, your family will be proud of you, you are setting a good example, you are proving that failure only happens when you quit. Of course quitting smoking isn't failure :P

Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks Bronson I appreciate your comment. I am so happy for you and your desire to get your degree. Your family will be proud of you and you will set a great example. I am inspired by you and your words. You are a encouragement to others as well. If you are quitting smoking then my hats off to you. That is a big step. Good luck.

Your comment is always appreciated.

Have a great day

Valuable hub. It takes a lot of courage to go back to school when you are older. But once you do it, you find it is more enjoyable than when you are younger. I am glad I went back to school to pursue my masters. I love to learn and hope I can always continue to take courses. There is so much to learn in this world. Thanks for a well written article. Voted up and useful.

Great hub. This is really a good read and very useful. Indeed there is no age for learning. Returning to college would be really challenging especially if you have kids. Your family and motivation will be your initial push to succeed and finish your degree. Thanks for sharing this.

Retuning to school can definitely be a challenge. While I am considered a "traditional student" I have the priveledge of working with a lot of "non-traditional students."

One thing I would add is that if you're looking for an online education, make sure to do your research! A lot of public instutitions are expanding their online curriculum and if you choose to move on it will make it easier for you to transfer. They're also held during the regular semesters, so you're not dealing with the pressures of taking an accelerated course.
