The Dog I Love
Dog..if only a man could be so respectable,
In the honor that you so show,
in the respectability that you have,
In your devotion,
in your wisdom,
in your acceptability,
In your unswerving allegiance,
in your innocence,
in your humbleness,
in your disposition,
in your gentleness,
in your fierce determination,
in your protectiveness,
in your justifiable intelligence,
in your knowledge of love,
and in your capacity to win hearts.
Dog of mine, I love you, and need your attention,
Few have what is called, real devotion,
I so love your gratitude,
I so love your plain appearance, yet quiet beauty,
I so love your acts of respect and care.
If only a man had your truth and faith,
if only a man had your ability to survive,
and if a man was as humane as you, my canine friend.
In you, I find hope, and a desire to go on,
for it is in you that all life.. has true respect and meaning.
In you is seen the true meaning of the regal, the kingly..and
Few other creatures have such brilliance and attractiveness.
Dog..you are one of the grandest of all of God's creatures.
