The facts behind "The Three Betty Goats Griff."
The Personification of Pets
This is a power point presentation I use when I speak to elementary students about the children's book: The Three Betty Goats Griff. It is interesting how humans "personify" pets by grooming and dressing them. Many humans treat their animal pets like children.
In some cases, this personification is helpful and provides a better life. Things like horse blankets and shearing sheep and goats does provide comfort to those animals. Dogs enjoy getting their hair or fur washed and brushed, but cats may not be so happy. They do allow their owners to dress them in some pretty amazing costumes.
"The Three Betty Goats Griff" is a children's book that you can access at:http://www.threebettygoatsgriff.com/
It has color pages, mazes, the book as a play, the book translated into three languages, and teacher pages for furthering literacy skills.
