Agree. You can see even in the pictures here that the Christ is bulkier.

It is a bigger statue than the Statue of Liberty, in general terms.

JG 2 years ago

The only reason the 'Statue of Liberty' is taller than 'Christ the Redeemer' is because it has its arms up holding the torch.

Head to head/shoulder to shoulder, the Christ is taller.

This is a nice list of tall statues, but as a previous commenter mentioned, it's missing quite a few. It looks like this list was put together sometime on or after 2007. There were several taller statues built since then. But even in 2007 there were 7 statues taller than The Motherland Calls. Bamiyan Buddha no longer exists, so it probably shouldn't be in the list. And there's a serious typo: it was destroyed in 2001, or the early 21st century, not "21 AD". The Statue of Liberty is the tallest statue in the US, but on the word stage, it comes in at about #30 (or #23 in 2007), not #3.

Hey Tashana 5 years ago

I would like to know why you were studying Statues in music class? Im a Music teacher and would like to find out. Oh and I didn't hear that you got a $200 bribe.

Tashana L. 5 years ago

We had to do project in music class on if the statue is the tallest or not it seems that the statue of liberty is not it is the tallest statue in the world it is the 3rd tallest in the world.the 1st in the world is the mother motherland. The 2nd is the Bamyan Buddhay. The 4th is Christ the redeemer. The fifth is the Sphinx. So, on my project I put the Statue of Liberty is the 3rd statue in the world. I didn`t put all of the words I put on here on the project. On the project I got an 100% A+ and I got 200 dollars from my parents.Good luck on your projects.God bless you.and pray for mean friends.

Doesn't matter how tall it is, Mother Russia calls is a beautiful, incredible work, and well represents how Russia called and behind Zukhov they came! Russia was the largest part of 'roper dopering' Hitler and rendering and squashing Nazi's then. Long live a country that had to take it on the chin, and win. hugs from Canada!

sews2much 7 years ago

The Russian statue is 101 meters high. I have been to place myself. The official website in in Russian and indicated 101 meters. Thank you for the nice work you have done on this site.

darlen 8 years ago

i'm pretty sure that ushiku amida daibutsu buddha of ibaraki prefecture in japan is taller than that one in russia. the buddha itself stands 100 meters high plus the flatform which make it 120 meters high.
