We had two pot bellied pigs when living in the country. One year, when the female was in season, two wild, large, big tusked guys took out my fence to get to her. They hung out in my yard for a few days and caused some serious property damage. I had no problem with them and got very close more than once but I love animals. Sadly, they would not leave of their own accord and when the neighbors from down the way found out, they "disposed" of them in true redneck fashion. It seems said pigs had hit their place prior and done some serious property damage there too. I will add though that I got "lectured" by them and my own old man for getting near them. They are very dangerous so I was told, over and over.

I agree. I think they're very dangerous. But I always *try* to deal with my fears using humor and hope for the best. Except for spiders, there is no humor with spiders. :-)

Oh my goodness! Sean, there's nothing worse than spiders except maybe snakes... ewe! I'm convinced the phone books that litter my door step uninvited exist only to be thrown at the nasty, hairy, super scary things from a safe distance such as standing on the couch in a panic!

Yeah, my grandmother got bit in her right eye by a brown recluse (lost her eye), so I've been at war with spiders ever since - and I'm winning. :-)

Hi Sean! I got a good laugh from this hub! I live in southern Oklahoma and we have many wild hogs here. YES, they can be VERY dangerous. There have been people killed by them, not often, but it has happened.

We live in the country and I love to go walking and take pictures,(of just about anything). We saw only one hog on our property a while back on a game camera my husband was using during deer season. Now, I don't wander too far from the house and always carry my "baby glock".

And yes, I did take the photo of the hummingbird, thank you for your kind comment! Thank you for your follow as well! I would love to see more stories from you! Great hub, voted up and interesting, as well as funny! Going to have to share this one too! Have a wonderful day! :)

SG, Hmm, I grew up near the Oklahoma border, but didn't know there were wild boar down that way. Saw a lot of skunks, raccoon, deer, water moccasins, armadillos and wild turkeys, though, and that's the short list. :-)
