Is it proper to flaunt your wealth in the face of the poor?

Do you think it's proper for the wealthy to flaunt their wealth in the face of those who struggle to meet the basic necessities of life?

Of course not. It's messed up.

I actually feel sorry for the wealthy people who are ignorant enough to flaunt their wealth since their entire life is so materialistic. I think they act that way since they're insecure about themselves as a people. Their whole sense of self is defined by their money and since that's all they have going for them, they feel the need to be arrogant towards towards others.

I think they need a reality check and reach out to help those in need. Not everyone is born lucky or born with the ability to strike it rich.

I don't think it is proper - ever, not just in the face of those who struggle.
It is just unnecessary.  Well, maybe except when one is preaching on how to become a billionaire - just to make a point.  ; )

It is my opinion, that flaunting one's wealth infront of anyone who is lesser, is not appropriate.
Why does one need to flaunt it, when they have it and no one is going to take it away from them.

Of course it's not proper. That's just being plain rude.

If you have worked hard I see nothing wrong with having nice things. $100k diamond studded chains for the purpose of just saying look at how much money I have is completely tacky though.

The one respectable way to flaunt your wealth that I can think of is by donating large amounts to charity.

I don't see wealthy people flaunting their wealth in the face of the poor. I also feel that a wealthy person should never have to apologize for their financial blessings. If a wealthy person was flaunting their wealth in the face of the poor, of course that is not a nice thing to do and in some instances, they could very well be stripped of it for doing so.
