Gibson guitar is well known and respected for their craftsmanship and quality. With the feds saying they are in violation of the Lacey Act which makes it illegal to import endangered woods the company sent workers home. This has ramifications for other instrument builders both incorporated as well as individual craftsman. My feeling is this is a political power play and will not be beneficial to corporate of individual craftsman whose livelihood is now in jeopardy. The stock piling of woods is necessary for producing instruments, bought legally and imported lawfully.
