Yes. Let me tell you a story that is very much true.
A woman parked in the parking garage next to her apartment. However, the only park left available was on the far side, which was as far from her apartment that she could get. She starts walking directly towards her home with a man in a car drives up, gets out of his car, and stabs her in the stomach. She starts bleeding, falling to the ground. He rapes her while she screams for help. Though she is surrounded by apartments on three sides of the parking garage, no one calls the police. He finishes and leaves her to die.
She is strong and has the will to live, so she struggles inching her way toward her apartment and the home phone she knows is inside. The pain is blinding and she is bleeding heavily. Surprisingly, she makes it from one side of the parking garage to the other, even so, it took her an hour to get 10 steps from her apartment. The man returns in his car, gets out, walks to her, stabs her again, and rapes her all over again. During the entire time of her situation, she has been screaming and yelling for help, but no one does anything from the safety of their homes.
He finally leaves for the last time, but not before stabing her a 3rd time. Astoundingly, she still wants to survive. It takes a few tries, but her bloody hands turn the door handle. She made it inside her apartment. Three feet away from the phone, she colapses and dies. Her entire ordeal took 1 hour and 30 minutes of screaming, crying, yelling, pain, stabing, rape, and blood. When the neighbors were questioned, they claimed they had heard the screams, but they thought someone else would report it to the police.
If I see anything that I would consider "strange" or "wrong", I will report it to the police immediately.
