Why are republican's so reluctant to pass the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act that will end insider trading in the Capitol? House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) indefinitely postponed the markup session on Dec. 7, 2011.
They must want to continue insider trading with impunity. To be fair, the Democrats have also hugely benefitted from insider trading based on their positions in Congress. That is well documented. However, why the Republicans will not ban this abuse of power is hard to understand?!? The Republicans appear to be setting themselves up to lose the House again sooner rather than later with unethical positions like postponing the STOCK Act.
