After spending nine years with no memory of the past; memories now seem to flow freely. As you age remembering the long past becomes simpler however remembering what you had for breakfast can sometimes be a chore.
In truth our brain is capable of more than even the most modern computer. It is like your using social media for linking information you believe you will want later. Use as many of the five senses as you can when putting something into long term memory. Just as with linking with a computer the more you use; the simpler it is to find.
This is about as foolproof as you can get. When you are trying to recall something again use your five senses. The smell of an open fire and the feel of stone or wood in my hand always remind me of my early childhood. The screech of a hawk, or seeing one in flight do this also. The taste of shrimp or crayfish always return memories of a four year old catching crayfish for dinner. Hope this helps.
