Should our economy bring economic prosperity for everyone?

Currently, our economy does not do this, it should.

a man once said that if everyone in the world was rich, who would do the imiture jobs like garbage men and eviromental cleaners.my point is if an economy can provide a comfortable life for all..then it has done well....

Nothing wrong with being a garbage man, some actually do better than minimum wage.  However, that same man should have more opportunity to do something other than be a garbage man.

Perhaps employ himself in his own business.

      Then there's poverty...

Yes it should and the US economy is particularly bad at this with one of the worst wealth distributions in the developed world.

What I would like to see is the US economy take the lead in evolving so that we can accomplish a few goals, like the elimination of poverty, not by a welfare state, but by the economic empowerment of the lower 10% to 15% of the population.

A leader rises and falls with the masses a king does not.

Question: How does this relate to the question of a economy bringing economic prosperity for everyone?

      Please clarify.

Our leaders in Washington DC are acting like kings.  The wealthy are getting tax breaks and corporations are hiding money overseas to advoid taxes, while they take money from education and programs that help kids and the elderly.
