I homeschooled my two boys through to High School and then they wanted to be at school with their friends. I would not have given up those 8 years of living and learning with my boys for anything. We unschooled which means that we learned through experiences rather that classtime and books. Although we used books to supplement the experiences.
The boys went to school in Grade 9 and never missed a beat. They are both at University now so the methodology seems to work.
But the benefits continue.Never having had the peer pressure when they were developing their little personailties they continue to walk their own paths and make choices without the crowd. They both have core groups of friends and wonderful women in their lives. And I got to be an integral part of their lives for those 8 wonderful years!
