Thanks for commenting nmdonders. I agree, but there is also the argument that U.S. test scores should be higher than other countries where students have a shorter summer break. Not sure if more time in school would equal higher test scores for kids.
What is the point of test scores??? anyway??? School should not be that different from summer break! Let the child be engaged from within... Check out Montessori U tube videos to get the point of New Direction Education.
