   someone asked me this a few years ago and i had a hard time answering it. i guess the strange statues we have around here is one thing. also being a border town but still being in the middle of no-where makes us kind of unique.

   We are a small town, a military town with a military installation at our back door. We have many retiree's and active military personnel. I love our little town in Texas because of the diversity. You can step out in many other towns from here, excluding the big cities it is like a different world..

   I live in a small Navy town called Key West. It's so difficult after living here 16 years deciding what's normal and what's not. It's like living in a different dimension.

   I live on a farm surrounded by bush and wild animals and yet it takes me only twenty minutes to reach a lovely seaside town build on a peaceful bay that makes you feel you are on holiday every day. If you feel more adventurous you turn your back to the ocean and disappear in green forest with granite hills and steep waterfalls or you drive ten minutes south and wild ocean greets you with thundering waves and endless, empty sandy beaches....I live in a paradise and I bless my luck every day:)

   We're currently hosting the Paralympics, which have been absolutely awesome. As I type I'm looking across the dock to the Excel centre one of the venues - and I couldn't be prouder. We've welcomed the world and have received bucket loads of joy and satisfaction. This is why my neighbourhood is so unique.
