A body of mass 9Kg is taken to moon what is the mass of body on moon?..........
Take time to ans and ans with proper reason.
Mass and weight are related. One can calculate mass if one will take a little time to do the math. I don't have the time, presently to do the calculation. Sorry. Have a wonderful day.
Dr. Haddox
Mass is constant whether you are here on earth or in the moon. But your weight here on earth is 6 times greater than when you are in the moon, since acceleration due to gravity constant here is six times greater than that of the moon. W = m x g where W = weight, m=mass and g = acceleration due to gravity constant, which is equals to 9.81 m/s raised to exponent 2.
@Haddox - there is no need to calculate since he just mentioned mass... lol...
The gravitation pull of a planet determines the mass of any object on it. If a body of 9kg is taken from Earth to Moon, it will be lighter because the gravitational pull or force of gravity of Moon is lesser than Earth but by how much?
1/6th. So, the body on Moon will experience a weight of 9/6 = 1.5 kg that justifies the point that it will feel lighter.
It would be one-sixth that on the earth, or about one- and- a half Kg on the moon. The moon's gravitational pull is about one-sixth that of earth. A child weighing sixty pounds on the earth, would weigh 10 pounds on the moon. An astronaut weighing 168 pounds on the earth, would weigh 28 pounds on the moon.A car weighing 3000 pounds on the earth would weigh 500 pounds on the moon's surface because the gravitational pull is much less there, and making travel less exhaustive in energy spent. This is what the NASA scientist must figure in when they have a moon landing, among many other factors which require the utmost in care and computation.
You pulled a fast one..there is no difference is there?
Answer should be about 1.535836177474403 kg But I'm sure there is someone on here in a science class that can give a more complete answer.
Of course there will be allot of talk about Newtons... and I have no idea why Fig Newtons come into these calculations.. But they are indeed delicious anywhere you happen to be eating them... even on the moon.
Mass is how much matter is on an item. If that has not changed, it has the same mass. It may have a different weight.
Yeah you are right here psyche... as I mentioned earlier mass and weight are related but they are totally different. If the mass is 9 kg on earth then it is still 9 kg on the moon. So there is no calculation needed here...
the ans is there is no change in the mass of the body at all ..the mass of the body remains same .the weight changes not the mass.the mass of body will still be 9kg.

How would life be on earth if the gravitational pull was far less than it is today?

Having a wondering about it moment. I don't have an answer. That black hole at the center of our universe may not exert its pull upon the earth as much as it does on our sun. Our sun revolves around it. So it does pull upon the sun. Would...
