   That's because today (this era) presents a wider array of just about everything, when compared to yesterday. Be it in the field of entertainment, education, forms of recreation and so on. To participate one needs time, and time is still limited in quantity. Since awareness is on a higher level today, and since people realize that most things are not impossible, they want to do just about everything and so the rush. They rush from doing their daily chores on to something that would qualify them to achieve something that yesterday would have been considered impossible.

      Thank you for your comment.Technology also has contributed to impatience, instant messaging, instant information at the click of the computer mouse, makes people want everything done fast.

   Technology is a double edge sword. People are so impatient today can be due to the "instant" expectation in one way or the other brought about by technology.

   While I agree that technology seems to give people the idea that everything should be instant, there are a lot of other factors.  Manners sometimes are not learned, and so many people live in a "ME" it's all about Me world.  The media seems to give the impression that crimes are solved instantly, people fall in love instantly and so on.  There's seldom a thought to practice and hard work.  People will join a gym and quit after a month, get married and quit after a month, get a job and quit after a month.  Another factor is that I think people don't make time to relax and they become tired and impatient without even understanding why.
