If aliens from space landed on earth , would you still believe there is a god.?
please keep an open mind when answering this question.. The key word is IF..
Of course I would. I don't believe in a god of only humans. And I don't believe that god, or higher power or whatever only created Earth. Pretty sure we were a practice run and she has done much better since!
if aliens landed on earth, i would probably take scientology more seriously. To be honest im not sure if i would stop believing in God though. Its possible it seems that if God created everything, that would include life on other unexplored planets.
I agree with everyone. I believe in God and whatever He did, whether big bang or anything else, the fact remains that He declared the world into existence. therefore, if there are other beings in the universe, smarter or less intelligent than ourselves, God created them as well. I do believe that other beings exist- we just haven't officially met them yet. Who to tell if we are not from another place in the universe and that Angels aren't some stellar beings. The world is vast and there is much that man does not know and even more will not be revealed to him. Great question Cleaner3.
I am not sure why IF one believed in god that proof of existence of other beings would contributed to an declension in that belief.
As I recall the last pope indicated that the reality of/existence of extra-terrestrial life was compatible with the concept of god; that extra-terrestrial beings could, IF one presumes that a god created the universe, have been created by him or her as well.
After all, we let go of the notion of a geocentric universe many centuries ago.
Yeah, the existence of aliens would have no bearing on my thoughts whatsoever. For an interesting view on this question specifically, you should take look at C.S. Lewis's "Space Trilogy." The third book in the series specifically tackles this question in an interesting way.
"And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten."
so... was this written by man or by God .?. do we really know ..or is it just our faith that it was transcribed to man... from god. ?
Scripture is written by man, from God (except maybe the 10 commandments, those were written by the finger of God) Faith is a belief in something that is not seen, but if it is true, will be made known. I know God exists, I have felt it
I read a good hub by Ceegan that sums up how I would view it:
UFOs and Aliens: A Biblical Explanation.
http://ceegen.hubpages.com/hub/Aliens-a … nic-Factor
I fail to see the possible relationship. IF aliens from space, landed on earth......I imagine many more people would believe there is life on other planets, some would think it was trickery and still not believe in "alien beings"........but I don't see how a belief in God......a disbelief in God.......or a shift in an opinion about God, would have any thing to do with the landing of aliens on earth. Aliens are not thought of as gods and God is usually not referred to as an alien.
You present this question, as though there's some distinct CHOICE between proof and belief in aliens......OR proof and belief in God. All due respect.....strange question.
The aliens of old were the gods. They wrongly set themselves up as such. The evidence is in now for any with an open mind to see this. Religions were created as a means of control that by our own time have gotten out of control. The sudden disappearance of culture from the middle east to the Indus Valley in India was the result of nuclear war between competing blood lines in these alien masters of the time - around 2000 BC, 2000 BCE if one prefers. The evidence is in for that too, i.e., witness the fused glass from these times all over the place, as far west as Scotland to where the nuclear cloud spread into the Indus Valley.
What do you think of God as? An old man with a beard sitting on a throne of gold with harp playing angels all about; or a Creational spirit of such power, love, and wisdom we are just now at a stage of scientific and spiritual development to start understanding it with any power and wisdom on our own part?
Personally I think there are many good things in the religious books and much that is not. Can we not now admit that much of the Old Testament is a rewrite of the two thousand year older Sumerian stories written on the cuneiform tablets for example?
The human spirit is eternal and constantly in a state of higher development. 21st physics science is starting to realize concepts that were thought impossible not so very long ago. We're on the cusp of a new age of understanding if those few with the power don't keep it to themselves or we as a civilization don't destroy ourselves and have to start all over again. Regardless, sooner or later all of "God's" or "Creation's" advancing spiritual forms will return to the source and power that gave birth to their souls to begin with.
great comment my friend .. although many do not believe in scientific evidence due to the fact that science is not the be all and end all... if it was.. why can it not prove the existence of god..? the same is for the proof from the religious siide
The Bible states that God created the "heavens and the earth". Based upon that alone, I can see He created all things and I think that would include aliens.
Who wrote the bible ... Man..? In that vien.. would aliens believe there is a god ..aren't we all just made of atoms ? which is energy, therefore we just return to energy when we die?... strange questions fill my brain every now and then
If energy cant be created or destroyed, how did it come to be? the bible was physically written by man, but is God inspired. Science and history books are written by man as well, but nobody says they are unreliable. Aliens could have a bible too, no?
How is aliens landing on earth related to existence of god?
It's like asking, ' If you saw real vampires, would you still believe there were dinosaurs?'
If God came on earth would you still believe there are aliens?
I don't believe in ancient stories written by men. They could be real, or just someones imagination. God didn't create religions, we did. And all the religions tell different stories. I believe in one God and I don't know much about him but I have faith in him. May be he created more life someplace else, but who knows.
ancient stories written by men who created the existence of god .. right .?
religions ... stories, belief , and the faith you have are just your imagination my friend... there is life .. all of the universe is life.
How can you be so sure? Have you seen aliens?
I said may be there are aliens, maybe not. I believe in god but I don't follow religions. Every religion has its good parts and bad, I take only Good.
I believe in God because I choose to.
While these two things have no connection, I would be curious to know from the alien on its view/ concept/ belief system about God!
Most extraterrestrials claim to be spiritual beings and much closer to the divine source. Then again, they could have been lying during the interviews; ha!
that woud be the first question I would ask them .. then why have they come /
You are all missing something. They would only be aliens to us, not to God. We would all be his children. To God, they would be no different than the guy across the street.

Is Atheism really just another religion or faith based concept? It seems like the notions that there is a God or there is not a God, are both founded in belief because there is not proof either way. Well there is proof, but not conclusive in either direction. So aren't organizations with set forth...

Do you consider the devastation from the tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, etc., 'Acts of God' ?If the Bible teaches that God is love, how do you reconcile causing death and destruction with being a loving God? What about Satan? He is called the ruler of this earth? What part does he play in the...
