How much of each day do you devote to obtaining local/national/international news and from whom?

This morning's PBS morning show from American University explored the general decline in what I will call "news attentiveness" since a relatively high benchmark in the 1950-1960 period. Guests raised a concern that, while news availability is perhaps as good or better than ever before, the interest in news among the age group 18-24 may be at an all-time low except for an interest in the minimum wage, with political and international news being of very little interest to those young adults. The caution was given that dangers lie ahead of a poorly informed public that is "opting out." Does it?
