what do you think should be done, if anything to the whale at SeaWorld in Florida? Let loose in...
the wild or kept in captivity?
I think they should release that particular whale back into the wild. That said, I don't agree with the idea that this is a typical result of putting animals in captivity for our entertainment. I know nothing about wales or tigers (remember when Roy was mauled in a Las Vegas show?), but I think it probably comes down to the what each individual animal is like: some do well in zoos, Sea World parks, or Las Vegas; others clearly don't do well.
Accidents will happen, but I don't think people should be rally around this as an example of why we should leave all animals in the wild. Not only does putting animals in 'captivity' help some endangered species survive, but it also gets people interested in animals (I'm guessing there have been a bunch of marine biologists and vets who were inspired to go into their fields after going to the zoo or a Sea World).
I heard that some people think releasing it would be cruel. If that's true, then I guess I don't understand how it could be. I don't think the whale would mind one bit.

We've all been to SeaWorld. We see a beautiful marine park and even more wonderful animals. What anti-captivity (also known as "anticaps") supporters don't want you to see, is the supposed 'dark side' of the park, where the orcas and dolphins are supposedly abused and mistreated. However...
