Is the herbal medicine and supplements we take regularly harmful for us?

The earliest recorded use of herbal medicines was by the Sumerians, nearly 6,000 years ago. The origins of the supplement indurstry are more recent. For example : Antioxidants /vitamins A,C, E and beta carotene/ are promoted by the press as the new cure for our modern diseases. Unfortunatelly, the proper scientific research concluded that although people who ate diets rich in plants had a lower risk of age-related diseases, there is no evidence of the benefit of antioxidatns and vitamin A, E and beta-carotene may increase mortality.
