Can and does philosophy contribute to solving the world's big problems?
The way your question is phrased does not make it easy to answer. Those men and women who have tried to change the world had their own philosophy about what to do and how to do it. People like Pres. John F. Kennedy, Gandhi, Dr. Martin Luther King Junior and so many more. In my lifetime I have come to realize recognizing what the problems are and having a solution to these problems isn't the only battle that has to be addressed. The biggest uphill battle to overcome is getting others to accept that which you propose no matter what process you use.
