Do you believe that ancient aliens or otherworldly beings once lived on Earth?

Did they give mankind technology? Was humanity more advanced in the past (Atlantis, pyramids, Damascus steel)?

I don't know if I believe it, but I really really want to. It would mean so much to us. However, I am a believer in the panspermia theory.

A number of researchers/authors think so.  I think it quite possible.  The tales passed down through the ages about the gods (some finding their way into the Bible) indicate the possibility.  The gods were nothing more than aliens.  Jehovah/Yahweh/"God" was one that was particularly psychopathic, as evidenced by his cruelty, demands of obeisance, etc.

The bit about man being created in God's image is more properly translated as in THEIR image (plural, lower case, gods), where they did genetic manipulation of ape genes and their genes to create the Adam, about 400,000 years ago.

See the mention of Sitchin's books in my profile page for an introduction.

why all this inferiority that aliens, gods, spacemen or whatever, came here and taught us all we know?  Although we may not often behave that way, we are intelligent beings, all that we are, all that we have is through our hard work.
Atlantis is pseudo history, it may have a basis in fact; the pyramids, like Stonehenge and other buildings throughout the world were built by skilled workmen; Damascus steel, about the 11th century, we argue about the name, is it the maker, is it the place, it doesn't matter, the Celts and Germanic smiths were making patterned, welded steel in the 3rd century BC.  We are intelligent, our ancestors were intelligent, stand up for humanity.

Stichen saw nuclear rockets in the Sumarian words for 'sheepfold"

But as in the being made as slaves Sitchen reflected the religion of that time.

The presence of aliens on Earth in the past is difficult to comprehend as there is not a single evidence pointing to that theory. It might be possible though that Earth itself alien to the Universe around it. We hardly have explored beyond Solar System. We need more powerful cameras like Hubble up there hanging over Earth to make sure in future we can invite a few aliens.

I think so.  Considering how vast space is, why should we all think that earth is the only place for life?

I think that the supposed aliens were advanced humans from an older civilization on earth. Archeologists are just beginning to figure out that advanced civilizations existed with advanced technology over 15,000 years ago, maybe longer.

Who's to say that some 50,000 years ago we had a more advanced world than the one we have now? Just because there is no evidence doesn't mean it didn't exist.

We do know there was a mass extinction of humans after the ice age meltoff. We really have no idea what happened in the distant past. Scientists are just guessing. There could have been a meteor impact in the ocean which caused a world-wide catastrophe. The scientists of the day would have prepared for the event by using their technology to go into space or hide in the mountains to escape the disaster. When the dust settled and they returned to the surface of the earth, they found primitive people everywhere because the technology of the past was all gone, except what the returning humans brought with them. They would have been Gods, flying around in their machines and working miracles with their technology.

The aliens from our past are our ancestors from an earth destroyed like ours may be in 2012. Obviously, some of the ancient knowledge got passed on for us to learn from. Are we ready for this? I don't think so.

Hi, I think it is a possibility. I also believe that just because we haven't 'scientifically proved' a thing/event or whatever happened doesn't mean it never did. If the world was only occupied by scientific concerete evidences, what a boring place it would be. The world is more interesting when we have mysteries. Added to that, I don't know how many times over the years I have heard the so called 'know-alls' professing that something or other is impossible, only to have them completely change their minds a few years on. I think in some respects it is only impossible to science because science just isn't good enough to find all the answers.
