Could you make it through the great depression, on less than a dollar?

    Do you think, that if you lived in the great depression, you could survive on less than a dollar?

      Well yes if you had to. Just barter alot. So for instance use your cooking or sewing skills for some apples or eggs or milk  or whatever you may need. Babysit for others kids or do some cleaning for a roof over your head etc... where there is a will there is a way. It would be very difficult but we could if we wanted to survive.

        My great grandmother, had told me today, that she would clean windows, for 10 cents a day. Back then that was enough for a loaf of bread.

          My father told me he hitchhiked across the country during the depression. I believe he left home with 5 dollars and by the time he got to his destination he had 3 dollars left.
