Animals are such intriguing creatures in all their infinitely myriad varieties.  Animals are quite interesting subjects to study. What type of animals interest and fascinate you and why?

We can start with these two if you like. They have evolved in separate areas and environments with separate social practices millions of years ago and yet can produce viable healthy offspring some of which are the biggest cats alive.

Actually Rad Man, ligers/tigons don't reproduce with other ligers, and the males are sterile. These hybrids only exist in captivity.

Of course they only exist in captivity, they don't even come close to each other in the wild. I've read that unlike mules they are sterile, but if that's the case it's even cooler because it shows evolution in progress.
