As you may or may not recall, children are becoming engrossed with technology for about 7.5 hours a day. Their physical and creative energies drain since they barely go outside to play, they barely exercise often, and they barely use their imagiantions. Have you ever noticed that?

I agree, it's something we must reverse. We still have Stone Age bodies. Children need to use their muscles, their minds and explore the environment. When my wee baby is old enough he'll get Lego, Meccano, Plasticine and anything tactile. He'll also be out in the woods, at the beach and up a mountain as often as we can manage as well as mixing and talking and playing with other children.

Great post, I hope you get lots of answers

I have certainly not noticed this in my friends kids.  They are out and about in all weather, drawing, sledding, finding insects.  Kids do what parents encourage them to do and what the parents themselves do.
