        I think language has made all of these other things possible - except possibly for the man's reply of "family," which is something language makes more enjoyable and fruitful. Communication is necessary for progress.

      Well, with over thrice the speed of sound we can Fly through the air faster then any bird in the world, I feel the airplane technology is the greatest achievement in the human civilization. Everything else was possible only after this. The world and life would have never turned so fast without the vehicle of airways.

      gosh, so many... i would have to highlight Man's achievements in space exploration, and manned space missions and the ISS. The Hubble cracked open the Universe.

      The eradication of some diseases. Human life is the most important.
      Hopefully stem cell research will help us replace body parts

      And of course coffee is good, like Frogdroping said.
