Egyptian architecture

    I think Ramses and his son were just cheap builders, pasting their signs all over the buildings they made and discredited the real builders, what do you think?

      Ramesses II certainly usurped some buildings and monuments in Egypt and had them inscribed with his own names and titles, but this was common practice and many Pharaohs did so.

      But he also did a lot of building from scratch - the Ramesseum, Abu Simbel, a lot of work at Karnak, KV5 etc

          Hm, not so much.  Read about the workmen's village at Deir el Medina and the newly excavated workmen's quarters at Giza.  These workers were well housed, paid with food and goods (there was no money in Ancient Egypt) and were definitely not slaves.
