What's the deal with Renewable energy?

    Why are we not using renewable energy for everything at this point?

      There's more profit in oil.

    Even though oil s still the King, doesn't mean the minions can't secretly rebel;)  I'm all for renewable energy!

    Renewable energy is still fairly new. The first electricity-generating wind turbine went into place only 25 years ago. Photovoltaics are fairly inefficient; the future of solar power is probably CSP.

    It's still a disruptive technology, though. It works, but the cost of scaling it up so it can be manufactured on a massive scale is still inhibitive.
