Gangster Squad is the first movie from 2013 that I have watched released on DVD. It opened at theaters on January 11 of this year. Earning $46 million from the States an $56.5 million from foreign markets, the movie made over $102.5 million dollars worldwide to counter its $60 million production budget.

Starring Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin and Emma Stone this Will Beall written movie had a great cast. Directed by Ruben Fleischer Gangster Squad tell the story of 1942 Los Angeles an the Mobster Mickey Cohen. The movie was released on DVD on April 23, 2013.

To start my quest of watching every movie released in 2013 that made more than 100K at the box office Gangster Squad was a great start. I rented the movie from Blockbuster and watched it right away. Sean Penn was awesome as usual as Mickey Cohen. I was also very happy with Josh Brolin's acting in this movie. He did a great job as the leader of his band of cops looking to bring down Cohen. Emma Stone was a beautiful as always an did a good job as Cohen's lady. Ryan Gosling was okay in his part, I just think he could have done a little better.

Overall Gangster Squad was a very good movie. It wasn't too long of a movie an kept my interest throughout the movie. I will base every movie I watch on a scale of 1 to 10. Gangster Squad deserves a score of 7. Mikey Cohen is an ex-boxer who wants to make Los Angeles his own. Cohen has police officers and judges on his payroll to make sure he gets away with everything. Brolin is a cop who only wants justice, after he is given the chance to make up a squad of officers like him he jumps at the chance.

A movie that receives a score of 1-2 is basically a bad movie an i wouldn't waste my time watching it. A movie scoring 3-4 is a movie that had a very few moments that you didn't fell like turning the movie off. Getting a score of 5-6 states that a movie is okay. A score of 7-8 means the movie is pretty good an you will probably watch it again an might even add it to your DVD collection. A score of 9 means it is a great movie that needs to be a must see for everyone. Also, you need to add it to your dvd collection. A movie that gets a 10 is an instant classic. This will not happen that much an if it does then that movie must be any serious movie watchers DVD collection.
