Borat Sagdiyev leaves Kazakhstan to embark on a journey to the States, bringing along nothing but his producer and his pet chicken. When Borat is in America, he is shocked to find out that Jewish people are still among us. He tries to purchase a gun to protect him from them, but is rejected because he is not an American citizen. He therefore buys a bear instead. That's right, a bear! This movie is absolutley outragious! You are sure to laugh until you cry.

Dodgeball Trailer

2. Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

  • Rating: PG 13
  • Runtime: 94 minutes
  • Appropriate for children: Possibly. There are some sexual references, so it depends on your standards.
  • Release: 2004
  • Cast: Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, and Rip Torn.

Peter LaFleur is the owner of Average Joe's, a small and unsuccessful gym with a handful of loyal but awkward members. When he defaults on the gym's mortgage, it is bought out by his rival White Goodman, a fitness God (as he calls himself) and owner of the successful Globo-Gym across the street. If Peter can't raise $50,000 in 30 days, Goodman will foreclose on Average Joe's. One of Average Joe's members suggests entering a dodgeball tournament to raise the money. This is where the comedy begins. They hire a coach by the name of Patches O'Hulahan whose grueling training will either get them ready or leave them in a coma. My favorite saying in this movie is: "If you can dodge traffic, you can dodge a ball." Trust me, if you haven't seen this already, watch it. I promise you'll laugh.

Tropic Thunder Trailer

3. Tropic Thunder

  • Rating: R
  • Runtime: 107 minutes
  • Appropriate for children: No. You'll see why within the first five minutes of the film.
  • Release: 2008
  • Cast: Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, and Brandon Jackson.

Tropic Thunder is about a group or cast of actors who think they're shooting a film. After screwing up a scene in a Vietnam-themed movie, the film's director is forced to take drastic measures. He decides to drop the cast into a real jungle, which turns out to be the "Golden Triangle," home to a heroin manufacturing gang. After watching their director get blown to bits by a land mine, they are convinced that he faked his death and that they are still filming. Do you see where this is going? A bunch of Hollywood actors stuck in a real war zone with fake guns, real drug dealers, and murderers. What will these dummies do? You guessed it. They stick to the script. This movie is incredibly funny. I didn't stop laughing, and the fact that Robert Downey Jr. plays an African-American makes it that much funnier. Note: This may also be considered an action flick.

The Hangover Trailer

4. The Hangover

  • Rating: R
  • Runtime: 100 minutes
  • Appropriate for children: Not kid friendly, unless you allow your kids to watch movies that include blatant drug use, heavy profanity, and drinking.
  • Release: 2009
  • Cast: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, and Heather Graham.

The Hangover is about four guys who decide to take a trip to Las Vegas for their friend's bachelor party. When they awake after a crazy night of partying, they notice that their (soon to be married) friend is missing and they can't remember a thing from the night before. With only hours until the wedding, the three friends try to retrace their drunken steps, learning what ridiculous actions took place the night before. This movie will have you falling out of your seat laughing, especially if you have had similar experiences being drunk and then hungover. This is the only movie where one could actually use the words, Mike Tyson, Tiger, and Baby in the same sentence. I won't spoil the rest but I can tell you that this is a must see, if you haven't already. Enjoy!

The Hangover 2 Trailer

5. The Hangover 2

  • Rating: R
  • Runtime: 102 minutes
  • Appropriate for children: No. Just like the first Hangover, I would not recommend letting your children watch this as it is even more outrageous than its predecessor.
  • Release: 2011
  • Cast: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha.

The Hangover part 2 takes place two years after the Wolfpack's first adventure in Las Vegas. This time, Stu is getting married and the four friends travel to Thailand for the wedding where Teddy, the bride's little brother, joins them as well. When they decide to have one friendly beer on the beach the night before the wedding, it happens again! This time, they wake up in a shabby Bangkok motel and find that Teddy is missing. Will they find Teddy in enough time for Stu's wedding? They sure try, and find out once again what outrageous things they like to do when intoxicated. The creators of this film succeeded in making an equal, if not better sequel to its predecessor. Just like the first film, I call this movie a must see if you're looking for a good laugh.

The Fockers' personalities are the complete opposite of Pam's father, Jack. Gaylord's father is a fun loving, positive guy and his mother is a sex instructor—need I say more? Everything starts off well but eventually, everything starts to fall apart when Jack gets back to his normal snooping. Will Gaylord and Pam ever get married? For his whole life, Rod believed that his deceased father was a great stuntman who worked very closely with Evel Knievel. All he has ever dreamed of is to be a great stuntman like his dad. Meanwhile, his stepfather is rude to him and constantly telling him how much of a man he is not. When his stepfather turns out to be dying and in desperate need of a heart transplant, Rod becomes very angry due to the fact that he wants to be the one to end him. He then decides to raise the money by scheduling the biggest jump he's ever attempted, 15 school buses. I know what you're probably thinking: what's so funny? Well, the fact that he is only driving a wimpy moped and completely fails every stunt attempt will pretty much have you rolling on the floor. Everything about this movie is funny. At least to me anyway. Check it out.

Being too young to purchase liquor, one of them decides to get a fake ID (McLovin is born). When the liquor store gets robbed while McLovin is purchasing the alcohol, two immature cops get involved. Luckily, they are fooled by the fake ID and decide to escort McLovin to the party. Meanwhile, the other two go through a series of ridiculous obstacles to obtain alcohol. I consider Superbad to be a classic comedy. I haven't met one person who said they disliked this film. If you haven't seen it yet and you like Jonah Hill, then you will love this movie.

Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle Trailer

13. Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle

This movie is about two stoner friends who decide that White Castle burgers are the only thing that will satisfy their munchies. When they arrive at the closest one, they find out that it has been replaced with a Burger Shack. This is the first setback in a series of many. The whole movie is about their journey to find a White Castle, which is not as easy as it sounds. Harold and Kumar are back in this even more outrageous sequel. This time, the boys decide to take a trip to Amsterdam (land of legal marijuana). If the title didn't give it away already, they end up escaping and are now on the run from the U.S. government. Their only hope of cleaning their records is to get in contact with Kumar's ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, who has very powerful contacts. During their time as fugitives, they end up at a bottomless party, meet up once again with Neil Patrick Harris, and get to "smoke" with a very powerful man in office. I won't say who. He's got two sons, Walker and Texas Ranger that need to eat. This movie does a great job at being stupid which results in laughter throughout the whole film. When he arrives, the warden asks him to help coach his football team made up of prison guards. He tried to decline but found out just how persuasive the warden could be. He convinces the Warden that what the team needs is a "pick-up game" with a weaker team to boost their confidence. Wow! Truly an 'epic' hub. My sister went to see 'Ted' last week and said it was the funniest movie she had seen for years. I did not like Borat but I realise I'm in a minority :o). I like Big Fat Greek Wedding, Wedding Crashers, Tropic Thunder among others. Great selection of movies.
