5 Versions of David Bowie's Heroes
Creepy Sexy
Bowie Is My Hero
I am a recent convert to the musical church of David Bowie. His music has always been in the background of my life, but ever since I first saw him in Labyrinth as a child, I’ve been quite frightened of his overwhelming sexuality. This prevented me from truly appreciating him until recently. Since our reintroduction, I have noticed how many of his songs have been remade. Some have been done well, others, not so much. A lot of people may be familiar with The Wallflowers’ rendition from the 1998 Godzilla soundtrack. During my time spent on YouTube, I noted that his hit “Heroes” is a favorite cover song of many bands.
Here are five different versions, including Bowie’s. Do any of them live up to the original?
