A song in tribute to our special moments
Princess Diana Tribute
Special moments captured by song
There is something special about a song that helps us connect to a joyous moment or a special love in our life. Music has a way of bringing us back to our childhood or helps us in remembering our first love or allows us to revisit that special place we lived years before and it enriches our lives and makes us realize how special life and our experiences are.
There is nothing like sharing your heart with someone you care for and when you both realize you have the same feelings for each other it is the best thing in the world and when you finally know you are in love that is truly special and when it is defined by a song that is what enables us to relive the moment as we celebrate the joy and happiness of being together.
I have become very sentimental as the years have passed and I am very grateful for all the special moments in my life. I have a song that reminds me of each and every one of them and when I hear one that has made it into my repertoire it makes me realize I am alive and have the capacity to remember and I find that to be a wonderful thing.
I remember when I first met my wife and how nervous I was and how I just went with my instincts because I knew when I saw her that she had captured my heart and I was caught up in the moment. The song that comes to mind as I remember meeting my wife and dating her is a song that was a remake and a tribute song, Candle in the Wind 1997 by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. It is a sad song because it is a tribute to a special lady and a princess who died tragically, Princess Diana. I remember when I first learned of her death I cried and felt so terrible about the tragedy. My wife was also very saddened when she learned of her death as well. We both recognized all the good she did and how special a mother she was to her two sons. Every-time I hear the song it reminds me of that sad and tragic day we lost a princess and it reminds me of a happy occasion when I started dating my wife to be.
A happy song I remember when I was dating my wife was I Believe I can Fly by R. Kelly which to me is an uplifting song that teaches us that we can believe and do anything in our life. I really connected to the song and adopted it as a song to inspire and motivate my inner self and live by.
When my wife and I attended our first concert on a date at Jones Beach Concerts we went to see our favorite music artist, Shania Twain and we were so impressed with her performance and her music we decided on her very special song From this Moment On as our wedding song which always brings a smile when I hear it.
The best moment in both our lives was the birth of our son and the song that I remember playing when he was born was Transiberian Orchestra's An Angel Came Down which resonates deeply within my heart as that was the very first song I heard as I became a new father. Christmas Eve in Sarajevo which is a very beautiful and touching instrumental song that always brings me back to that wonderful and miraculous day is another favorite of mine. Another song that touches my heart is that ageless classic by Paul Anka, You're Having My Baby.
So to me music is a big part of the joys and happy moments we live and to remember them by song makes it all so special because we get to live the moments again everytime we hear that wonderful and special song.
