AMC Networks Channels Return to DISH

Updated on November 13, 2012
Source

Last month, DISH returned AMC to its channel lineup as a result of its court settlement with Voom. As part of the long-term agreement, AMC Networks other channels were also returned to DISH’s channel packages on November 1, 2012. These channels include Sundance Channel, We TV, and Independent Film Channel (IFC).

In case you’re unfamiliar with these channels, here’s an idea of the quality entertainment you can expect from them:

Sundance Channel

The Sundance Channel is devoted to cultural and artistic cinema including independent and foreign films, documentaries, short films, and features and coverage on special film events like the Sundance Film Festival. It also features original series such as Freaks and Geeks and My So-Called Life. The Sundance Foundation is dedicated to the support of independent playwrights, screenwriters, artists, and composers, so if it’s new, up-and-coming, or diverse independent content you’re looking for, Sundance Channel has it all in one place.

We TV

We TV is a women’s network that features original stories that relate to the lives of real women. The channel is dedicated to the representation of all different types of women and families and offers programming that reflects family life and the modern women. Some popular We shows include My Fair Wedding, Braxton Family Values, and Bridezillas, among many others, which offer reality, drama, and humor to their large, female audience.

IFC

IFC is the hub for indie and cult entertainment, including new and old series, movies, and comedy. Its unconventional programming offers new shows and movies and features classic TV shows and movies popular with the independent film crowd. The original series offer a different brand of humor that’s appreciated by many who enjoy a different perspective of film and TV entertainment.
