It's History Now: Acoustic Alchemy Kicked Off A Tour In The United States
Acoustic Alchemy Is Alive And Well
Believe it or not, Acoustic Alchemy (they are from England) came here to the United States, on the 20th of October, 2007. I went to the "kick-off" concert, their first in the U.S. after just having flown in from Japan the night before. It happened at Rosemary Beach, Florida, a small, new, high-end beach community just off Highway 98. It is between Panama City and Destin. I happened to be there out of destiny. Suddenly, I received a call from my friend, Liz, who was there with her boys, enjoying the wine-tasting event (among many other events) while they were picking up their ceramics projects. "Maria, Acoustic Alchemy is here," she said, over the phone. "We must go see them!" She just happened to hear the announcement over the radio, 106.3, as she switched channels. If she had not switched channels, we would have never found out and would have missed it entirely. It was like destiny! We went, and we enjoyed the concert thoroughly. It started promptly at 8:00 p.m.
Acoustic Alchemy, if you didn't know, is composed of 5 people now; a drummer, Greg Grainger, a bass player, Gary Grainger, (formerly with Earth, Wind, and Fire, and, yes they are brothers) an organist, Fred White, and two main guitarists, Greg Charmichael (original founding member and band leader) and Miles Gilderdale. They are all geniuses in their own right! In order to play with such perfection, they have to be. Their live music sounded better than the CD, of course. As my friend Liz said, "You know it is a great band when they sound like the CD or better. In this case they sounded better." Amazing, when you have to consider that they had to have been experiencing jet lag if they had just flown all the way over from Japan! They are certainly with it!
You ought to hear some samples of their music. They also have a "MySpace" site:

If they are coming to a town near you, I would highly recommend that you do whatever possible to go and see their superb concert. It was truly worth experiencing their music "live." Trust me, I have high level taste in music.
