Apple and Evus (A dog's tail of Adam and Eve)

This is a little cartoon story my daughter made up the other night when she couldn't sleep. I thought it was cute, I hope you think so too.

This is the dog version of Adam and Eve. I will warn you, she has my sense of potty-humor. :O)

The child is a genius!

I love how Random Robot made an appearance, just like in the real Garden of Eden. (The special version,it seems to have been left out of the King James version. It is well known that English Royalty didn't like Robots, regular or random, that's why there is nothing about them in the history books.)

Fun story C, keep up the good work. Only pee though. To improve as a writer it is very important to weave poop into the story. Just ask your Mom, she's absolutely world class at that particular skill.

Fun Hub, ladies,

Chris

Thank you, Chris. She got a huge kick out of your comment, proving the point that facts, true and otherwise, really ARE an important part of childhood!

Don't forget that we homeschool, so you can know in your heart that we are (daily) working on the poop factor. Thanks for validating my advice to her, and for the compliment... I think!! :)

You must have been an awesome teacher!!!

Sue,

Oh, it was a compliment alright.

I do, however, worry about the child being in such close proximity to someone so unarguably certifiable for such long periods. She has your creativity in spades, but there is that dark (and smelly) side...

Have a great day ladies,

Chris

sueroy333 profile image

sueroy333 5 years ago from Indiana Author

Chris- I'm afraid I have passed the dark (and smelly) side her way as well. Either that, or she's 13, and who doesn't love potty jokes at 13?

It's those of us who have never grown out of it that are scary. Notice I said, "those of us". I do love the company! :O)

I absolutely loved it and yes... she is certainly a chip off the *&% block! I love Chris's comments too.

Chelsea, you should have your own blog...

Thank you Mr. Redneck.

What a fantastic story (and probably how it really went down metaphorically). Your kid is hilarious, tell her she made me literally laugh out loud, not just "lol" the letters on the Internet. Great stuff. (The snake coming back in armor was fabulous!!!)

She's working on drawing "Harry Manboobs" for Stan. I'm curious to see what her take on this will be

My dear, it was ever thus between women and men, and we seem to keep falling for it (and them), which is perhaps a good thing in some ways. Fun story!

mysterylady- thank you so much. I will tell her she had more visitors and show her your comments. She's getting all kinds of encouragement right now from nice people like you!

Thank you!

RedElf- yes, that's the truth.. we seem to keep falling for it (and them). I think you're right in that it's probably not a horrible thing. Although if she just would have grabbed Apple by the neck along with the snake, this whole Evus-did-it thing may have been avoided.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Chelsea will like that you thought her story fun! Thank you also for taking the time to leave a comment. Comments are gifts. Awesome gifts.

I'm so blown away I don't know whether to post my comments here in praise of you and your talented daughter or on a fan letter. So read your fan mail as well.

Chelsea, you are a delight and I can only imagine what fun you and your Mom have learning and discovering together! Keep up your cartooning! You really have a marvelous style!

By the way - I have a 15 year old great grandson and a 14 year old great granddaughter who live in Indianapolis.

Nellieanna- you are so kind! I will make sure Chelsea sees this comment! She will be beaming all day. :)

We do have a lot of fun. Between her comic look at the world and my lack of attention to details, most of our days include a pretty decent amount of laughter. (Even the yukky days).

She just bought (with her own money) a bamboo pad that lets you draw cartoons right onto the computer, so I'm thinking I may have a few more of her comics soon!

We live 2 1/2 hours from Indy. I'll bet your grandaughter loves it there! I have a ton of friends from Indy, it's a pretty cool place!

Thank you again for reading our stuff and for the wonderful comment!

Ah - Yes, Carla likes it there. She ended up living there rather than Bloomington when she had a nearly fatal operation several years ago so that the children had to be enrolled in a private school in Indy under their Dad's auspices for that semester. They preferred the school and so, when she was able, Carla decided to move there too. It's best for them, so they have both parents right there. They are very wonderful biracial youngsters and their Dad's family is excellent and very education-minded, so it's been good for them. They are very tall, like their Dad and Aaron is althletic, but also quite artistic, under my second granddaughter, Kasey's influence. Kasey is finishing her degree and has plans to continue into graduate school. Bryana, the 14-year old, prefers writing though she also likes crafts. They're both good students. It's amazing to watch generations unfold! Conceivebly, I could live to know great-great-grandchildren!

sueroy333 profile image

sueroy333 5 years ago from Indiana Author

It sounds like Carla is an amazing mom. It's so great when parents put the needs of their kids ahead of their own wants. Bloomington is a beautiful place, I'm sure she found it difficult to leave.. then again, since she knew she was going TO a place that was great for her kids, maybe it wasn't.

I'm glad the operation was only "near fatal", is she doing well now?

Bryana sounds a lot like my 13 year old! Your great-grandkids must make you proud! How cool would that be to know your great-great-grandchildren?! For both of you! :)

Yes, Carla is a great mom. I think some people are born to be good moms. Even as a kid, she was sort of motherly. i think she's happy in Indianapolis. She's always involved with the kids and she visits her other sisters and her mother in Bloomington, too. She's visited me several times, usually with the kids. Both their parents have made it a point to take them to many new places, too. When she was 13, she spent all summer here with my husband and me. We had a great time and it created the special bond we have, I think. Yes, she's done well since the operation. Thanks for the lovely comments, Sue.

As for where the talent came from, well-we're still checking that out. We think there may have been a mix-up at the hospital.

Somewhere there are two very talented parents wondering why their little one can only do dot-to-dot.

Ghost32 5 years ago

Great bit of work. Having gone through six divorces (Pam is wife #7, never mind that we'll soon be 16 years together and will have doubled the time I ever spent with any FORMER wife), I can really appreciate the GREAT TRUTH illustrated by the cartoonist:

LEAVE IT TO THE LADIES TO REWRITE HISTORY AND BLAME THE GUYS FOR EVERYTHING!

Works every time...!

On the flip side, it's good to see both Apple and Evus treating snakes much the same way we treat 'em when they get too close to our Border Fort in the Arizona desert....

Special note for Random Robot: Beware the wily Bender from Futurama. He's utterly lacking in scruples and easily as charming as any mere flesh-and-blood reptile.

sueroy333 profile image

sueroy333 5 years ago from Indiana Author

Ghost- I see you have finally understood the concept that women are always right. This has no doubt been the secret to your success with wife #7.

I will warn Random that Bender may make a play in the near future. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the heads up.

Wait, I'm a woman, I'm sure I thought of that last bit myself. Thank you for proving how right we women are. You are so kind... for a guy. :)

Hi SueRoy,

Thanks for taking the time to read some of my hubs! The Adam & Eve story is great, I have to show my son. He just received all his official paperwork to teach grades K-5 and is job searching. He has such a love for working with young ones, but they are pure energy and he glows when he is volunteering! It sure is hard to keep smiling sometimes, but hey, somebody has to so the grouches don't take over! Talk soon. Jean

Congratulations to your son. Good teachers are difficult to find, and worth their weight in gold.. it sounds like he's going to be a great one! I wish him luck that he will find a school that is a good fit with him.. and one that appreciated teachers that aren't grumpy!!

DTroth- Chelsea thanks you for liking her artwork and imagination. She mostly is happy you liked the fire hydrant.

She wants to be a cartoonist when she gets all grown up... I think if she continues she's on the right path. I'm always surprised at her "out of the blue" sense of humor.

Here's one she made up yesterday... "Oh NO! You're an alien come to suck my brains? Hey, Wait! I don't have any brains! IN YOUR FACE!"

On second thought, maybe you had to be there... :)

DTroth profile image

DTroth 5 years ago from My Little Hole In The Wall, HubPages, USA

Hi Sue and Chelsea,

She really should be a cartoonist (as well as an author). I've sketched animals for many years now and the smooth flow of her lines is outstanding. I don't know how old Chelsea is, but she definately has a natural talent. As long as she doesn't let ANYTHING get in the way of her dream, she shall have it!

Aliens and brain sucking, eh? Actually, I don't have to be there. That's funny! I look forward to reading more about that one if she goes ahead and develops the story line. I like a good alien story every now and then. (:

Take care and stay safe, ladies,

Diana
