American Idol 11 (2012) Hollywood Week Auditions - First Round
The 11th season of American Idol starts airing Hollywood Week on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. The first show starts at 8 p.m. Eastern time and lasts one hour.
The first episode and round of Hollywood Week feature a capella auditions on a stage. Contestants sing solo and traditionally without instruments. However, instruments are sometimes allowed for this first Hollywood round, as well.
According to previews, there will probably be way too much time spent on some girl fainting and falling off the stage, people getting sick and other such nonsense. To be honest, there seems to be a lot of talent this year if you actually go on YouTube and listen to some of the contestants perform. But the initial city auditions of Idol's Season 11 came off as very lackluster, and many rumored to be in the voting rounds were either not shown at all or only got small clips of their auditions. Now that we have a second chance to start showing some talent, we find out Idol wants to show stupid people who don't know how to not fall off a stage.
Where is the talent for Season 11? I hope and think it is there, but it would be nice to start seeing before the finale.
I will recap the action on the first round of Hollywood Week 2012 after the show airs on FOX. Check back to this space for the recap of contestants and other shenanigans.
