This number, composed by Ravi, is also an exemplary use of Raag Darbari Kanada to create a very harmonious classical bhajan, thereby showing the variety that can be brought into the songs by the creative genius of the music composers. This is also a very popular Bhajan song of the times. The lyrics were written by Sahir Ludhianwi.

The song is a duet with Lata Mangeshkar joining in and complementing the scene. S N Tripathi's musical composition is exceptional and the lyrics of Bharat Vyas are not far behind.

What makes this song unique is that this number is one of the rare uses of Raag Darbari to express Shingar Ras (Decorative Romance). The sweetness of the voice that comes with Lata Mangeshkar takes this song into the class of masterpieces. Its music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan, which is adequately complemented by the impressive on-screen choreography and the lyriics of Shailendra. A very nice audio-visual musical gem.

if there is a music composer, who was as talented as anyone else when it came to classical compositions, and yet you have not heard much about him, it is S N Tripathi. This song is another example of his brilliance and command of hindustani classical music. The movie Tansen is the story of one of the most famous medieval music masters from history who used to be the Royal musician in the Mughal Courts in sixteenth century. The singing prowess of Mannade does justice to his character and the lyrics of Shailendra are a compliment.

It was sung by Chandrani Mukherjee and can arguably be considered her best in Bollywood. The music of Chand Pardesi is similarly among his best. The lyrics of D S Sultania are a pleasure - simple, yet with a lot of depth. Makes you wonder what happened to the team that created this masterpiece - why did we not hear more from them in our movies.
