Best Monster Movies and Horror films of 2014: Updated with new preview for Dracula Untold

Introduction

Without further delay, I would like to present my readers with another annual series of hubs for the upcoming films of next year. For those of you who don't know how this works, I'll give you the low down.

Essentially, I provide you a list of previews and trailers for some of the upcoming films of next year, with each main genre getting it's own category. Although most of the previews will have trailers, others will not. This mainly has to do with the fact that some of next year's films don't have a trailer yet, but I'll be updating these preview hubs throughout next year.

Another notable change I've made for certain genre previews is that I noticed how some of these genres have so many subgenres that I thought I'd do something special this year.

For love stories, action films, and horror previews, I've decided to do a thing where I would include a special thing called "Subgenre." Unlike the other preview hubs I've had in the past that only list the cast, writers, release date and etc, I found that some readers did point out that films like "Resident Evil" fell more in line with monster films rather than actual horror. This also led me into thinking about how horror films itself has many diverse genres within itself. Sadly because there's lack of any kind of trailer for most of these previews, it's hard to tell which film is a slasher flick or possibly a psychological horror movie. Or perhaps, a found footage horror flick.

However, I can still make distinctions on which films fall into suspense horror thrillers and horror comedies though quite easily from various resources. Although it's not quite as precise as I would like it to be, but it's a step in the right direction, as I will try to find a more effective method going forward, but for now, this is the best I can give to my readers.

Another thing worth noting though is that some of these previews don't have movie posters released either yet, so some of them won't have any during these preview hubs. However, I'll be adding them as soon as they become available.

Anyway, I appreciate you all for checking out this hub, as I hope you all enjoy the previews. Also be sure to check your local listings for these films, as release dates are subject to change.

Nice list there, I am very interested in how Godzilla will be. I loved Pacific Rim and the idea behind it (even though not original).

Same here. I'm just curious on how they're going to approach it though. I know from what i've read and heard that this new godzilla reboot is going to have more of a gritty realistic tone in line with most of legendary pictures' other projects in the past. however, i guess we'll have to wait and see. all i know is i can't wait to see it. :) anyway, thanks for stopping by.
