Best Rapper Alive: Rae Lyrique

Who am I?

I was born in Washington D.C., the middle child of 5 kids of which one died before she ever got to live. I was always interested in the arts, photography, drawing, painting, poetry and eventually music. As a child I was always shy, very uncertain about myself or the abilities everyone else seemed to notice within me. At the age of 8, I wrote my first poetry book sighting all the hardships I saw around me and what I went through behind the walls within my home.

I spoke at a father's day convention shortly after that only to have my new found courage and faith crushed by my own father when he said I was an "embarrassment" to him; go dad!

Nevertheless, I continued to write and draw, these were the only tools I had to speak out. I wanted to be famous, I wanted to live like the stars on t.v., Michael Jackson, Prince, the Police and other musicians I admired at the time. Music brought me through a lot of rough times in my life and to it, I owe my all.

My story however, is only half-told, not even that much. The rest is in rhyme...Check me out!
