A common scene on Branson Famous
Branson Famous, ground-breaking show
If you are a devoted fan of TruTV, you have noticed several revamp's the network's owners have installed to make the network more progressive, streamlined and productive to not just compete in the "network wars," but to constantly gain new and more audience numbers each day.
So far, this has "worked almost as smooth as a well-built German wall clock."
According to inside sources, audience favorites, "Impractical Jokers," "TruTV's Top Funniest," which in a series includes Top "Redneck Brawlers," "On-Air Television Bloopers," and more realistic programming. The only "real" programming are the actors in the commercials on TruTV. I can live with that so easily.
Branson Famous--new and fresh
I would be safe in saying that TruTV's newest show, "Branson Famous," is more a breath of fresh air than a television show. The show is sold as a real show about a real family, The Mabe Family, Tim and Patty, man and wife core of The Baldknobbers who perform at the Branson, Missouri music-based theater. Tim and Patty, run the show. Literally. Tim also doubles as "Droopy Drawers," a comic relief for the family band during the many shows they perform each week.
If you need more than one storyline, then "Branson Famous," should be the show you put your television remote down to watch. Right now, there are three separate storylines:
1.) The Baldknobbers Hotel and show is not having such great times with low audience and customer numbers and that constitutes low cash flows which creates stress and the inevitable tension eruptions among The Mabes and from what I've seen, the squabbles look very real. No tongue-in-cheek line delivery. In short, when anger is needed. You see anger. I give the show a "plus" for honesty.
2.) Tim Mabe, the Baldknobbers show director, business and promotion manager, has announced "his" way of catching-up with past-due bills and move-on with the show and attract bigger audiences. His "idea," is selling the Baldnobber Motel, which was a clever and believable "hook," but not good enough to be a good, old-Branson-fashion cliff-hanger. It made me want to watch the next show to see what Tim was up to.
3.) Brandon and Megan's constant-struggles. Brandon struggling with Tim to almost take-over to show his dad how his ideas are more novel, modern, and creative, while Tim insists on "staying with what brought us here." And that must have been a long way in fantasy semi-Country music for Tim and Patty seldom complain about not having their own money, so the show must be doing something right. Oh yes. Megan's "polite cat fights" with family patriarch, Patty who has to show Megan "who is the boss" frequently because Megan is cast as a manipulator to get what she wants, as she says in a promotion about Branson Famous.
---Note: Brandon and Megan were, according to the scripts, married to other spouses until Megan, who seen the perfect vehicle to get herself on a major stepping-stone to get to Nashville and hob-nob with the who's who of Country Music and make herself a name and gain more popularity. Her vehicle? Brandon Mabe who is very weak for her girlish and spoiled whining and how she uses her feminine charms to blind Brandon into doing things her way.

December 29, 2014 – present--TruTV
- Branson Famous is an American reality series that premiered on truTV on December 29, 2014 as part of the network's latest programming revamp. It is billed as the first ever "reality musical" show.
- Branson Famous follows the Mabe Family, stars and owners of the Baldknobbers Jamboree show, one of the longest running shows in Branson, Missouri, a city world-famous for its live entertainment shows.
- The youngest of the Mabe siblings runs a gift shop, but wants to make her breakthrough into show business. And to add insult to injury, there's a "new sexy singer in town". In one of the more bizarre elements, the cast & crew break out in song during their confessionals.
Branson Famous--so far
So far, Brandon has met with a stage show financier who will finance The Baldknobbers productions and keep them from bankruptcy. Apparently, Tim Mabe, Brandon's dad and boss, doesn't let on about their financial problems. If he does, he keeps it hidden well.
This storyline has a long future, I think. And Megan's constantly jealously against a new girl to the act, Heather, I might say is a mild fourth storyline which may not last long, for the writers left us with Heather wanting to "try her wings" at another motel in Branson, Missouri and see if she can succeed on her own. Sherry is so talented and charming, I think it would be foolish to write her off of Branson Famous, but maybe write her in a competitive-storyline to really pit her against Megan.
The reason for Heather. Megan, through her manipulation, worked behind the scenes to get rid of a girl who Tim and Patty hired to give the Baldknobbers a more and distinctive voice. And Megan succeeded. But if the plot of Megan always "trashing" Heather to Patty, grows any older, the writers will have no choice but to reinvent Megan and not a more-advanced character who would easily fit on "Days of Our Lives."

TruTV has a hit on their hands
My thoughts as a viewer is: Patty, to me, is the "queen bee," of the family and stage production, but she doesn't come right out and say, "Dearie, I am the boss." She is a very attractive lady, I might add who has obviously had a lot of theater work for she can deliver lines by just the looks on her face and how she works her eyes. That's talent.
With Megan whispering negative terms about Heather, her husband, Tim Mabe, is having some growing pains about him not being respected as the job he already does for their stage presentations. But his love for his mom, Patty, keeps him grounded along with his dad, Tim's man-to-man advice.
The music and playing instruments is original. From the cast members singing about each scene on Branson Famous. This is a new twist to reality programming, and it is taking me time to grasp the idea. But so far, we only see the faces of the cast members lamenting or celebrating in song. Thank God.
I would hate to see Megan and Brandon at a local self-service gas station and get into a spat with Brandon growing irrirated and winning the spat boots down. Then Megan turns from pumping the gas and faces the camera and sings a heart-breaking lament entitled, "If My Man Had Ears," or something of that nature and then the show continues.
It's new. It's an original concept. And it is exciting. I just hope that we get to see the current storylines concluded before new storylines are added, for I hate to watch Branson Famous or any television show with a program in hand.
And please, TruTV, do not inject this "singing reality" segment into Hardcore Pawn unless you want to change a huge successful show to a side-alley bum singing for wine coins. Les, Seth and Ashley Gold will not go for the singing change.
Besides, none of them can sing.
I give Branson Famous a FOUR in a scale of ONE to FIVE.

Destination America, a channel on DirecTV, has a new show, Mountain Monsters. The show is about guys who investigate sightings of mysterious creatures reported by average citizens. This is my opinion.
